36,000 Sq. ft. of plates imaged in eight weeks - Montreal, Canada - August 16th, 2002 - The Cobalt-8 violet CTP system recently installed at Commercial Communications, Inc. in Hartland, WI is proving to be the workhorse of the prepress department, imaging 36,000 SqFt of plate to produce more than 4000 40-inch plates in just eight weeks. The Cobalt-8 was installed at CCI in May and was up and running within a few days. CCI already had a Prinergy workflow system from Heidelberg driving their prepress department and did not want to reinvest in anything new. Designed to integrate into any prepress workflow, the Cobalt-8 slipped seamlessly into CCI's existing prepress workflow without issue. Unlike thermal systems, the Cobalt-8 will image faster at lower dpi's (i.e. twice as fast at 1200 dpi than at 2400 dpi) so productivity can be tuned to the type of presswork required ensuring maximum throughput.
