DAYTON, Ohio--Aug. 5, 2002--Standard Register, a leading information solutions company that helps companies improve business results by leveraging information, was honored with a 2001 Master of Quality Award from Freightliner LLC.
Freightliner, headquartered in Portland, Ore., is a leading truck manufacturer. Its world-renowned brands include Freightliner(heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, military vehicles, and custom-engineered chassis), American LaFrance (legendary fire trucks and apparatus), Thomas Built Buses (commercial and school buses), Western Star (heavy-duty over-the-road and vocational trucks) and Sterling (specialized vocational trucks).
The Master of Quality Award is the highest distinction awarded to suppliers that meet Freightliner's strict standards and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to quality products and service. Only about 1 percent of its more than 3,000 suppliers received the award.

"Our suppliers play a large role in helping us deliver high-quality commercial vehicles that provide our customers with significant competitive advantages. You are the role models for the entire supplier base," said Roger Nielsen, chief operating officer of Freightliner LLC, during a ceremony honoring the winners.
The award is based on criteria including on-time shipping, drop-shipping flexibility, state of the art technology, shipping and documentation, pricing, marketing programs, maintaining a 99.8 percent or greater acceptable rate on product shipped to plants, technical support, electronic data interchange capability, and supplier communication.
