STAMFORD, Conn.--March 19, 2002--The suite of software from Caldera Graphics, distributed in the United States and Canada by Xerox Engineering Systems (XES), has been honored by the Digital Printing & Imaging Association with the 2002 DPI Product-of-the-Year Award. Representing products that have had a major and beneficial impact on the digital graphics industry, the winners of this year's Product-of-the-year Competition were selected at DPI's 10th Annual Conference & Exhibit held March 6-9, 2002 in Palm Springs, California.
XES, a leader in wide-format document management solutions, has developed a strategic partnership with Caldera Graphics, a French company specializing in the development of imaging software solutions. Under the partnership, XES offers a family of Caldera products - VisualRIP, ReproShop, Collection and more - as a unique software solution for the XES ColorgrafX X2 and X2-TECH wide-format printers.
Using Caldera's renowned graphic arts and technical document color printing, scanning and copying software system in combination with an XES color printer will allow customers to seamlessly scan, RIP and print files in a single multifunction system. This technology partnership will encourage more efficient and rapid color printing.
"XES is continuously evaluating new partnership opportunities that will help create more well-rounded wide-format solutions for our customers,'' said John Duerden, CEO of XES. "Being able to offer Caldera Graphics' industry leading software with our color inkjet printers is a perfect example of how these partnerships will elevate XES's position as the leading provider of total document management solutions.''
XES's color inkjet printer line offers wide-format full-color digital printing for the graphic arts, technical documents, print-for-pay and print-for-use markets. The X2-TECH is a four-color printer (with high-speed black) designed for the technical documents market. The ColorgrafX X2, a six-color printer, provides a powerful solution for graphic arts environments. Both X2 printers helps customers increase throughput by offering high-speed color printing and copying, instant drying prints and network connectivity through Caldera's ReproSHOP printing server solution for multi-user environments.
XES's partnership with Caldera Graphics offers a variety of benefits for customers in large-format full-color printing. Key benefits include:
