Oki Data Introduces Color Printers for Commercial Art and Graphics Firms
Press release from the issuing company
MT. LAUREL, N.J.--March 6, 2002--Oki Data Americas, Inc. today announced its newest solutions for the commercial art and graphic design marketplace with the introduction of its C9000 Series Studio Edition Family of color printers.
The OKI C9200n Studio Edition and the C9200dxn Pro Studio Edition Digital LED color printers have been specially configured to meet the needs of this color-centric marketplace.
The new printer series provides graphic arts and commercial printing professionals the most versatile short run color printer available and eliminates the need for outsourcing color composites and pre-proofing. The Studio Edition Family of printers accurately matches any color and supports Pantone, SWOP, Euroscale and ICC color matching standards as well as TrueType and PS ATM fonts in both Windows and Macintosh platforms. The C9200n Studio Edition comes with 192 MB of RAM standard, and the C9200dxn Pro Studio Edition offers 320 MB of RAM and 5 GB hard disk drive, giving graphic artists and commercial printers the tools necessary to complete large file jobs.
To help complete these print jobs, the Studio Edition Family of printers includes software by solution partners Imaging Portals, Inc., iProof Systems (C9200dxn Pro Studio only), and Monaco Systems, Inc. (C9200n Studio Edition only). "Oki Data's color LED printers and Monaco Systems' ICC profiling software have teamed up to provide customers with outstanding print quality and a cost-effective color management solution,'' said George Adam, CEO, Monaco Systems, Inc.
There are additional benefits. "The Studio Edition Family is Oki Data's first line designed specifically for the graphics arts industry, and provides low total cost of ownership, increased productivity, as well as durability and reliability for end users, just like all our other OKI color printers,'' stated Susan Kirvan, Oki Data Marketing Manager, Vertical Markets. "Our Studio Edition Family offers commercial printers and graphic design firms a professional color management system that is easy to set up and use. With the industry supporting either distributed or centralized printing in either ICC or PS CRD workflow, we now have a solution to support all needs while increasing productivity and high-quality output.''
The OKI C9200n Studio Edition and C9200dxn Pro Studio Edition utilize OKI Single Pass Color Technology, powering the printers to a fast 21 pages per minute (ppm) in full color and 26 ppm in monochrome. Each printer in the Studio Edition Family also prints on various types of paper and card stock, including sheets up to 35.4" long and cardstock as heavy as 110 lbs. All models offer 600 X 1200 dpi resolution, with a standard paper capacity of 650 sheets for the C9200n Studio Edition and 2,850 sheets for the C9200dxn Pro Studio Edition.
Continuing OKI's reputation for durability and reliability, the Studio Edition printers have a highly durable run rate of up to 83,000 copies per month. Toner cartridges for the Studio Edition Family of OKI color LED printers have a total capacity of 15,000 pages at 5 percent coverage.
"We wanted to provide the most color-centric of industries with the best possible color printing and print-on-demand capabilities,'' added Kirvan. "Our answer was to offer a pre-configured printing solution that could also be customized to meet end-user needs faster than outsourcing and in a more cost-effective manner.''
