Pitman Expands Operations in Western Region

Adds Two Branches To Increase Service To Customers Throughout Region TOTOWA, NJ, March 4, 2002 — Pitman Company, the leading North American graphic arts supplier, today announced a major expansion of the company's Western Region sales, distribution and support operation to increase service to its growing customer base throughout the western states. Branches have been added in Salt Lake City and Denver, bringing the total number of Pitman branches to six in the Western Region and 22 nationwide. Joe Demharter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pitman Company, said, "We've seen significant growth in the graphics industry throughout our Western Region over the last few years. The branches are also staffed to provide exceptional ongoing customer support with an array of consultative and training services in vital areas such as CTP and advanced digital workflows for all types of printing processes." Heading the Pitman Salt Lake City distribution facility as Branch Manager is Kelley Featherstone, who previously had been with Litho Development & Research (LDR) for 29 years and managed its facility in that market. David Gill is Branch Manager of the Pitman distribution facility in Denver. He brings 18 years of experience with LDR to the post, including managing their Denver facility and a digital program. To oversee the operations of the two added Pitman branches, Steve Teerlink has been named to the new post of District Manager. He previously had been Vice President of Sales for LDR in Salt Lake City. In addition to the two branches, Pitman's Western Region also comprises branches in City of Industry (Los Angeles), which serves as the hub of the region's operations; Hayward (San Francisco); Seattle; and Dallas. All Pitman branches throughout the country are linked with the company's ultra-modern inventory and distribution system providing access to products from more than 900 quality brand suppliers.
