BasysPrint and GMG Weihing Sign Global Distribution Agreement

Press release from the issuing company

Boizenburg and Tuebingen, - GMG Weihing GmbH and basysPrint GmbH announce today the cooperation on the distribution of the GMG ColorProof software with DotProof option. DotProof allows the production of contract-quality digital halftone proofs on standard inkjet printers. The screened proofs are based on 1-bit-data, which are generated by the RIP of the UV-Setters. According to the agreement, basysPrint will offer a complete tailor-made solution to produce high-quality halftone proofs. DotProof was first introduced to the public at the recent IFRA exhibition in Geneva. "The partnership with GMG Weihing corresponds with our philosophy to offer our customers high-quality, complete solutions, customized to meet the individual needs" says Ulf Meyer, director of sales and marketing at basysPrint. "With GMG ColorProof and DotProof CTP-users finally have a solution, which fulfills all requirements for digital halftone proofs. As it uses the final bitmap data of the CTcP RIP it complies with the RIP-once principle. At the same time, it uses the original screening information and has the same color accuracy than continuous tone proofs. The proofs are output on standard inkjet printers, which makes this system not only fast, but also highly economical." "We are very pleased that a highly renowned manufacturer like basysPrint, offering a technology which is unique worldwide, has chosen our solution. CTP technology drastically shortens the time to go to press. Therefore it is even more important, to check all data for hidden problems prior to exposure. Furthermore, a digital proof should not only offer color predictability, but must also an accurate judgment of the screening information", states Robert Weihing, President of GMH Weihing GmbH.
