QTI: Innovation in Register Control Debuts at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

The inventor of closed-loop register control for web offset printing, showcases new product release Birmingham, England - QTI will unveil its latest innovation for register controls during IPEX, April 9 - 17 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, United Kingdom. QTI's new RGS Vector, an ICON CONNECTION, features a specially designed camera that is the fastest technology on the market. It also resides on QTI's new ICON product platform. "QTI is known throughout the world for our quality register control products," states Randy Freeman, Vice President of Marketing, QTI. "The RGS Vector continues our tradition of bringing leading edge technology to the printing industry." QTI designed the RGS Vector's camera to scan the entire cylinder circumference with up to thirty captures per second. This faster pace allows the system to quickly find register marks, thus saving precious makeready time without the need for setup of the circumferential register mark position. Other CCD matrix cameras work at a fraction of that speed. QTI's camera achieves the higher velocity because it was developed specifically for register control. It also allows operators to more accurately monitor and adjust registration, which further reduces waste and increases efficiency. The new RGS Vector(tm) also features QTI's unique diamond shaped mark sized at 0.010 inch (0.25 millimeters). The RGS Vector(tm) is the latest product release for QTI's new ICON product line. The ICON is a new, network-based platform that offers customers an efficient, flexible, and expandable system for their QTI press controls. Currently, ICON supports QTI's existing Ribbon Control System (RCS) and Register Guidance System (RGS) integrated controls, as well as the new RGS Vector(tm). The system is designed for maximum flexibility to meet the integration requirements of any OEM press control. QTI plans to add other equipment to the ICON product line in the future. To learn more about QTI's RGS Vector or ICON visit the QTI booth, 18-211, in the PrintCity exhibit hall during IPEX, or call QTI's headquarters at 414 566 7500.
