DTI Acquires Former IKON Business Systems Services Operations

Press release from the issuing company

GREENSBORO, N.C., Jan. 28 - DTI Integrated Business Solutions has acquired the Mid- Atlantic operations of IKON Business Systems Services (BSS), a division of IKON Office Solutions, for an undisclosed amount. DTI was an independent integrator with 14 years experience prior to its 1997 acquisition by IKON. DTI retains all current assets and obligations of the former BSS operation, including its customer relationships with The Boy Scouts Of America, Food Lion, and Coca-Cola. DTI plans to maintain all of its current vendor contracts and relationships of the former BSS operation. DTI will also retain its core group of 33 employees with offices in Greensboro, Raleigh, Charlotte, NC and Virginia Beach, VA. "The Mid-Atlantic IKON BSS group, now DTI, has provided great content management solutions and service to its customers,'' said David Gadra, Senior Vice President of IKON Office Solutions, Malvern, PA. "While IKON continues to focus on its core products and solutions, DTI will leverage its strength in software-based information management systems. This transaction enables each business to continue to succeed in their separate markets.'' "DTI is uniquely positioned to provide customized, enterprise-wide data management and retention solutions to organizations facing a content management challenge,'' said Chuck White, president and CEO of DTI Integrated Business Solutions and former general manager of IKON BSS East. "Because of our background in records management, we understand workflow applications, which is the foundation of any effective information management solution. We have greatly enjoyed being a part of the IKON family for five years and look forward to going out on our own once again.''
