SAN JOSE, Calif.--Jan. 15, 2002-- Adobe has announced the appointment of James E. Daley, executive vice president of EDS and Colleen M. Pouliot, former general counsel of Adobe, to the company's Board of Directors. James E. Daley is executive vice president and chief financial officer of EDS. Prior to joining EDS in 1999, Daley spent 35 years with the international accounting firm Price Waterhouse, L.L.P., now PricewaterhouseCoopers. From 1995 to 1999 Daley was vice chairman, international, where he was instrumental in building the company's practice in Eastern Europe, Russia, China and other emerging markets. From 1988 to 1995, Daley served as chief operating officer of Price Waterhouse. In addition to Adobe's Board of Directors, Daley is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America and chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Ohio University Foundation. He holds a B.A. in business administration from Ohio University, where he graduated with honors. Prior to retiring from her general counsel position at Adobe in November 2001, Ms. Pouliot served as the company's senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Previously, she was an associate at the law firm of Ware & Freidenrich (now Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich) in Palo Alto, Calif., before joining Adobe in July 1988 as associate general counsel. Pouliot is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Software Alliance. She is also an active member of the California State Bar where she is involved in the Business Law Section and the Intellectual Property Section of the Association. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. In addition, Pouliot serves as an advisory member of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan YMCA. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in economics from the University of Santa Clara. With the additions of Pouliot and Daley, Adobe's Board of Directors increases to nine members. Co-chaired by company founders Dr. John E. Warnock and Dr. Charles M. Geschke, other members include Bruce Chizen, president and CEO of Adobe; Carol Mills Baldwin, president and CEO of Acta Technology, Inc.; Antonio Perez, former president and CEO of Gemplus Corp.; Robert Sedgewick, professor of computer science at Princeton University; and Delbert Yocam, formerCEO of Inprise (now Borland Software Corp.) and former president and COO of Tektronix.
