Agfa Monotype Announces e-Book Font Pack for the Palm Reader

Mortsel, Belgium, 19 December 2001 - Agfa Monotype Corporation, a major provider of fonts and font technologies worldwide, today announced the availability of the Agfa Monotype e-book Font Pack for the Palm Reader, Palm, Inc.'s award-winning e-book reader. The pack contains high-quality, hand-tuned fonts that optimize legibility when reading e-books with the new Palm Reader Pro software. Three font styles are included-serif, sans serif and condensed-for both the Palm OSreg; and Pocket PC versions of the Palm Reader software. The Palm OS version includes four sizes for each bitmapped font, while the Pocket PC version includes a scalable TrueType font for each font style. This provides users with a versatile selection for displaying e-book fonts in different styles and sizes based on their personal preference and resolution of their handheld devices.
