Printable Releases PrintFusion Template Builder

Press release from the issuing company

SAN DIEGO, CA, November 15, 2001 – Printable Technologies, the leading online software provider for the graphic arts industry, announced today the release of PrintFusion Template Builder, a new software package that enables Printable’s customers to create business-rule driven, customizable, variable printing templates from desktop publishing documents. PrintFusion Template Builder has a simple, menu-driven user interface that makes it easy for customers to design their own templates for use with Printable’s PrintFusion applications suite. Custom, template-driven documents can be created from native application files using QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, PageMaker and Illustrator, CorelDraw and many others. PrintFusion Template Builder runs on Apple’s Macintosh computers and is available today. It is provided without charge to Printable customers who subscribe to the PrintFusion service. "This is just the first of several applications we have planned for the second generation of Printable administration tools," said Chuck Gehman, EVP and CTO of Printable. "Our customers have always been able to perform their own administrative and maintenance functions, but as we release new programs like PrintFusion Template Builder, it will become easier and easier for them." One of Printable’s most popular digital workflow applications, PrintFusion streamlines production of business cards, stationery and other print items by combining templates and catalog ordering. Printable’s printer customers provide PrintFusion to their print buyer customers as part of an end-to-end suite of web-based software that includes CRM and e-commerce applications. The buyers use PrintFusion to do their own typesetting and proofing. PrintFusion then automatically provides data-merging, copy-fitting, online proofing and impositions delivered as ready-to-image PDF files. The result is fewer errors due to data entry problems, much faster prepress and make-ready, and less pressroom waste and spoilage.
