Docucorp Extends Policy Production System with PDF and XML Capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS---Nov. 6, 2001--Docucorp International, a provider of enterprise information solutions, today announced enhancements to its industry-leading Policy Production System that will enable Managing General Agents (MGAs) to improve their communication and exchange of information with insurance carriers, ultimately resulting in lower costs and reduced policy completion time. The new capabilities include the ability to output information in portable document format (PDF) files as well as to import/export eXtensible Markup Language (XML) files. "Our Policy Production System makes it possible for Managing General Agents to access forms and information from insurance carriers,'' noted Randy Skinner, senior vice president, services, Docucorp. "Now, with the ability to convert information into PDF files, MGAs can electronically transmit policies, notices and other related information to carriers, saving paper, postage and manual handling costs. In addition, it will significantly speed up the completion of policy files. "Also, the ability to import and export XML documents permits agents and MGAs to broaden the exchange of information over agency interface systems, allowing access to rating and agency management software solutions from third-party vendors,'' Skinner added. "This enhancement will create tighter integration and improved data integrity, while also speeding the delivery of information.''
