IKON Teams with Adobe in Document Distribution And Production

Press release from the issuing company

VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Oct. 31 IKON Office Solutions, Inc. today announced that it will team with Adobe Systems Incorporated to integrate Adobe PDF Transit(TM) Internet printing technologies into IKON offerings for document distribution, sharing and printing. Leveraging the universal Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), IKON will provide solutions that improve and simplify document management and production for its customers. IKON will integrate PDF Transit into its Desktop Express(SM) solution, which enables reliable submission of print jobs for convenient and cost- effective desktop-to-print-shop workflows. Incorporating PDF Transit into Desktop Express will benefit organizations by making it easier for users to submit "print-ready'' PDF files to centralized print facilities, thus more frequently directing print work to the most appropriate resource and ensuring leverage of centralized print resources, which in turn will help keep document costs down. "IKON and Adobe share the same vision of enabling designers and business publishers to print their jobs anywhere, anytime, delivering on the promise of network publishing,'' said Cathy Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for IKON. "With Adobe PDF Transit, we will be able to offer convenient, reliable desktop-to-print-shop access for our corporate customers, making it easy for end users to submit print jobs from the desktop to on-site corporate print facilities and receive their documents exactly as they intended at the location of their choice. Our corporate customers have long sought a way to streamline the desktop-to-print-shop workflow. With PDF Transit, IKON will be able to make that goal a reality.'' "The expansion of the Adobe/IKON relationship supports our mutual goal of adding efficiency to the management, sharing and production of documents, through the use of Adobe PDF and offerings like Desktop Express,'' said George Cacioppo, Vice President, Internet Printing Group, at Adobe. "IKON's commitment to improving the way businesses communicate complements both Adobe's overall network publishing strategy and our Internet printing strategy being driven by PDF Transit. Together, we can make it possible for businesses to print content anytime, anywhere, from any device.''
