Ronald Goolsby Assumes Additional Responsibilities at Valassis
Press release from the issuing company
LIVONIA, Mich., Oct. 15-- Valassis, the leading company in marketing services and Connective Media (TM), announced that Ronald L. Goolsby has assumed the added responsibility of leading the Printing Operations Division. Goolsby layers on printing operations to his existing leadership of the company's sales operations and Canadian divisions. Printing Operations includes free-standing insert (FSI) logistics, production operations and pre-press operations. His other responsibilities include FSI category management, insert publishing and sales analysis, as well as selling all Valassis' products and services in the Canadian market.
"By merging these two areas together under one leader, we can integrate both technical and customer service skills and provide even faster, better service than ever before,'' said Goolsby. "My goal is for every one of our internal departments to have complete understanding of the needs of our customers, while being able to execute in a completely seamless fashion.''
The FSI Operations Division gathers promotional information and graphic materials from clients and works with them to coordinate when and where to insert each graphic version of their promotions. FSI Operations then passes the information to the Printing Operations Division, which ensures that the right promotions run in the right markets by distributing the graphic contents to the printing plants on a per market basis. By working more closely together, the two divisions will fuse the two-step process that takes place before distributing materials to the printing plants into one step, thus creating a more streamlined process.
Goolsby's eighteen years at Valassis prepared him for his upcoming responsibilities. For sixteen years, he held numerous positions in the Manufacturing group, including Vice President of the Livonia Printing Division. There he was instrumental in expanding Valassis' product lines and ensuring efficient manufacturing processes. More recently, he has been exposed to the sales side of the business, where he successfully managed and grew the internal regional sales area and implemented Internet promotion services in Canada. Goolsby resides in Livonia, Michigan with his two children and wife, Ann.
