Xerox Engineering Systems Launches MAX 200 Network Printer

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn.- Oct. 10, 2001-- Xerox Engineering Systems (XES), a leader in wide-format document management solutions, today introduced the MAX 200 Network Printer, a stand-alone wide-format printer offering the fastest print speeds in the industry - with highlight red printing capability. This printer is the second generation of the MAX 200 family, which was first introduced in February 2000 as a complete digital document system. The MAX 200 Network Printer (NP) meets the demands of high volume printing customers who do not have significant scanning and copying needs. It can be easily networked with other digital workstations for load sharing. With the fastest print speed on the market, the MAX 200 NP operates at 7.9 inches (200mm) per second - delivering 17 D-sized prints per minute or over 1,000 D-size prints per hour. The MAX 200 NP prints in both red and black with no loss of speed, allowing users to clearly highlight critical changes and hard to see details with red ink. Industry research has shown that highlighting important information in red reduces errors by up to 80 percent and helps users locate information 70 percent faster. An added benefit of the MAX 200 NP is the availability of a clear upgrade path, enabling customers to grow the machine along with their business needs. For example, a small print-for-pay shop with few scanning jobs may begin with just the MAX 200 Network Printer, but as the company grows and scanning increases it can easily add a low cost scanner instead of purchasing an entirely new system. "The MAX 200 Network Printer signals a tremendous advancement for the MAX 200 family,'' said Marc Neiss, Director of Marketing. "Now a broad base of customers in centralized and print-for-pay environments can take advantage of the industry's fastest wide-format print speeds and the power of highlight red, with the peace of mind that they are investing in a machine with a clear upgrade path.'' The MAX 200 NP, which is available this month, is targeted to centralized industrial and print-for-pay environments, catering to markets such as manufacturing, government, transportation, utilities, and A/E/C.
