DAYTON, Ohio---Oct. 10, 2001--Standard Register announces the appointment of Laurie Spiegelberg as a corporate officer and vice president of corporate communications. Spiegelberg is responsible for employee communications, public relations, investor relations, corporate events, corporate identity and branding, and marketing communications. Prior to joining Standard Register, Spiegelberg served as vice president of corporate communications at Brady Corporation, an international manufacturer of signs, labels, printers, software and specialty die-cut materials based in Milwaukee, Wis. Laurie also held the position of global communications and public relations manager at GE Medical Systems, Waukesha, Wis. "Standard Register has embarked on a revitalization initiative to help the Company achieve strong long-term growth and profitability,'' says Standard Register Chief Operating Officer Peter Dorsman. "Laurie's proven track record in communications, particularly in helping drive cultural and strategic change, will be invaluable as we take the Company to the next level.'' Spiegelberg holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Evanston, Ill., and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
