New York, NY (October 3, 2001) - The prominent publishing industry leaders and luminaries who have been invited to participate in the American Magazine Conference 2001, the annual conference of Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) and American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), have been confirmed for the event. They include Oprah Winfrey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Harpo Inc., and Jack Welch, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, General Electric Company. Also slated to speak are Jerry Levin, Chief Executive Officer, AOL Time Warner, and Martha Stewart, Chairman & CEO, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
The AMC conference, titled "Future Intense: Brainstorming for the Next Media Upswing," will be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers beginning Sunday, October 21, and ending Tuesday, October 23.
