Press release from the issuing company
ALEXANDRIA, VA (September 27, 2001)--IDEAlliance, formerly the Graphic Communications Association, has announced the details of its educational program at XML 2001, the world's leading XML conference and exposition.
XML 2001 will take place Sunday, December 9 through Friday, December 14 at Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida, USA.
The six-day conference will provide participants more than 130 technical sessions and 40 tutorials, along with four keynote addresses, three plenary sessions, and a variety of informal business receptions, discussion groups and social events. XML 2001 will also feature nearly 150 providers of XML-based products and services offering hands-on demonstrations and displays December 11 through 13.
More than 3,500 IT professionals are expected to participate, including applications engineers, chief information officers, directors of e-business, project managers and team leaders. Participants at XML 2001 represent a wide range of Fortune 1000 corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout the world.
"This is an exceptional opportunity for IT professionals to cut through the sometimes-bewildering maze of XML technology and find real-world solutions," explains David Steinhardt, president and CEO of IDEAlliance. "This year's program theme is 'What Really Works,' and we mean that."
Conference chair Lauren Wood, director of product technology at SoftQuad Software, emphasizes the value of the event for experienced XML users. "The XML Conference and Exposition is the premier XML event, and many of today's taken-for-granted Web technologies were unveiled here. This year, we've expanded our offerings to include a larger exhibit floor, a new 'incubator' area featuring emerging vendors, and vendor presentations throughout the conference. Participants in XML 2001 will be able to see what works today -- as well as learn what's coming tomorrow."
Participants can register for XML 2001 on line by visiting http://www.xmlconference.org
A discount is available to every participant who registers before November 30. Special discounts are also available to academics and members of organizations affiliated with IDEAlliance.
