Domtar Pursues Efforts to Leverage the Web

MONTREAL, Sept. 26 Domtar Inc. today announced the official launching of its new corporate Website. Home to more than 2000 pages of new information, the new "domtar.com'' is truly unique: users need only double- click in order to receive the information they need or to personalize their home page and future interaction with the company. In addition to servicing them with quality products delivered on time, we have leveraged the Web to foster closer relationships via e-Paper(TM) - one of the most comprehensive business-to- business application in the paper and forest products industry. Domtar's new corporate Website is designed to serve customers, investors, suppliers, media, concerned citizens, job-seekers and employees. New features include virtual catalogues, links to existing services (e-Paper(TM) and creative toolkit©), interactive maps of forest management, and a comparative stock market performance dashboard, among other things. Previous Web initiatives by Domtar have been recognized for their outstanding innovative qualities. A recent issue of Forbes magazine declared e- Paper(TM) the best-of-Web B2B application, and the San Diego-based Environmental Science Research Institute gave Domtar its International Special Achievement Award for the company's efforts to bring forest management to the Web. Domtar is the second largest producer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America and the third largest in the world. It is also a leading manufacturer of business papers, printing and publishing papers, and specialty and technical papers. Domtar manages close to 36 million acres of forest land in Canada and the United States, and produces lumber and other wood products. The company also has a 50% investment interest in Norampac Inc., the largest Canadian producer of containerboard. Domtar has 12,500 employees across North America.
