CreoScitex Synapse Prepare Awarded Hot Pick at Seybold
Press release from the issuing company
SEYBOLD San Francisco 2001 (September 25, 2001) - CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc. (NASDAQ: CREO; TSE: CRE), is pleased to announce that Synapse Prepare software has been named a Hot Pick by Seybold Publications editors. Selected from a large group of new products under consideration for Hot Pick status, Synapse Prepare software enables one-click creation of print-ready PDF files on the creative desktop.
"Synapse Prepare software is a comprehensive approach for creating production-ready PDF files," said John Parsons, Senior West Coast Editor for Seybold Publications. "Combining a number of technologies, Synapse Prepare allows printers to create locked "Directives" - a set of specific instructions from the print vendor that can be used by document creators to generate "safe" PDFs using Adobe Distiller and a number of output methods. The most useful will be PDF print controls available directly within the QuarkXPress application."
The Synapse Creative Suite, which includes Synapse Prepare and Pagelet plug-ins, is being demonstrated at Seybold San Francisco in the Moscone Center from September 25-27 in the Adobe Partner Pavilion (booth #1517).

The Hot Pick designation is awarded to new products, technologies and services that add obvious value to professional publishing processes and reflect the Seybold editors' vision of where the industry is heading.
About Synapse Prepare
Synapse Prepare software supports the PDF workflow by providing content creators with the tools to easily create PDF files that match the exact specifications of their print vendor.
Through multiple creation options, users have the option of printing directly from QuarkXPress with the Synapse XT, printing to the Synapse Prepare software desktop printer from any Macintosh application, or simply dragging and dropping Adobe PostScript or PDF files onto a hot folder or Synapse Prepare applet.
Synapse Prepare software provides the ability to create and distribute Directives, a set of instructions from the print vendor that eliminate the frustrating and time-consuming process of selecting dozens of application settings. In addition to these pre-defined printing parameters, Synapse Prepare software includes the file verification actions from Enfocus PitStop. This preflighting capability guarantees the integrity of the PDF file for output.
Synapse Creative Suite software offers a comprehensive package of PDF productivity tools for prepress professionals, including an enhanced version of Synapse Prepare, PDF Seps2Comp, Pagelet and Enfocus PitStop Professional software. This collection of nine workflow utilities provides the ability to create, verify, compose and output high quality documents and printed material.
