Press release from the issuing company
SAN FRANCISCO- Sept. 25, 2001--Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery technology and Electronics For Imaging, Inc., the world leader in enabling networked printing solutions, will introduce two color print servers for the new Oce CPS700 color printer. The Oce 950C and Oce 900C servers incorporate EFI's Fiery color server technology, which maximizes the usability and performance of the Oce CPS700 color printer. These servers provide the graphic arts professionals and production color environments with easy control, increased flexibility, and simplified color printing.
Designed by EFI, the Oce 950C and Oce 900C servers offer the latest innovations in software and hardware technology, providing users with comprehensive production features, connectivity to all popular networks, the ability to e-mail print jobs directly to the server, and the capability to add customizable color profiles via the optional EFI Color Profiler(tm) kit. Both servers include EFI's ColorWise 3.0 technology, offering the highest image quality andprecision color control. Additionally, the Oce 950C and Oce 900C servers will take full advantage of EFI's upcoming variable data printing technology and Graphic Arts software, which will provide a comprehensive array of tools for accurate proofing and color reproduction.
The new Oce color print servers provide production environments with the speed, ease, and precision needed to complete their most challenging print jobs.
"These color servers are results of ten years of innovation and a very strong on-going commitment to R&D,'' said Mehran Farimani, General Manager of Production Printing, Electronics For Imaging. "By working closely with Oce, we are able to offer their customers the most advanced server possible and take our successful partnership to the next level.''
The Oce 950C is targeted at the highest volume installations running heavy graphics and variable data applications. The Oce 900C is for less graphics intensive environments.
"The user-friendliness of the EFI servers fits in very well with the ease of use of the Oce CPS 700,'' according to Wendell Wilson, Group Vice President, Oce Document Printing Systems.
The Oce CPS700 printer specializes in short runs, allowing businesses to digitally print quantities between 30,000 and 100,0000 per month cost effectively, reducing the waste associated with larger offset runs and obsolete materials. This 25 pages-per-minute color printer has the ability to print and RIP at the same time and uses a dynamic new seven-color process that reduces the amount of toner needed as well as producing images that are free of image flaking or cracking.
