Agfa Integrates Enfocus Technology in New Workflow Solution, Apogee Series3
Press release from the issuing company
Gent, BELGIUM & San Mateo, CA September 6, 2001 (PRINT 01 & Seybold SF) Enfocus Software today announces that the recently launched Apogee Series3 from Agfa is integrating state-of-the art Enfocus Certified PDF_ technology. Apogee Series3 with integration of Enfocus Certified PDF is taking PDF workflows to the highest levels of reliable digital document exchange, offering a more advanced level of automation, control, openness, scalability and ease of use. Enfocus technology is integrated into the new releases of Agfa Apogee Create, aimed at document creators, and in Agfa Apogee Pilot, the PDF pre-press workflow system.
"Enfocus is clearly the undisputed worldwide market leader in PDF editing and preflighting," acknowledges Johan Berlaen, General Manager Agfa Digital Solutions. "We have been pushing PDF as THE document format in digital workflows for some years now. The integration of Enfocus Certified PDF is again another step in that
direction. Enfocus Certified PDF takes Apogee into a higher level of secure PDF document exchange, offering unprecedented reliability and predictability in Digital File Exchange."
To help minimize the risk of errors and responsibility, Enfocus Certified PDF is enabling everyone in the production chain to find out by whom and with which PitStop preflight profile PDFs were preflighted, and what changes were made. Agfa Apogee Create creates Certified PDF files, while Apogee Pilot checks the Certified PDF status of the file when it is imported into the system; in this way an unprecedented degree of reliability in digital file exchange is achieved.
