Roll Systems Announces Two New Products for Xerox Electronic Printers

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago, IL (September 6, 2001) - Roll Systems announces the Signature Stacker and the DocuSheeter™ Input Grain Rotator Option for high speed Xerox DocuTech 2000 publishers, here at the Print 01 Show. These products represent a significant extension of Roll's product line for these printers, beyond the established DocuSheeter line of top-selling roll feed systems. Signature Stacker is a key component of the new Signature Folder/Stacker marketed by Xerox. Signature Folder/Stacker comprises CP Bourg's BPRF Perfect Binder and Roll's Signature Stacker. Signature Stacker stacks folded signatures from the Bourg unit, offsets book blocks, and makes finished book blocks immediately available, making it ideal for off-line/near-line bindery operation. Signature Folder/Stacker combines with the DocuSheeter DT for an end-to-end solution for Xerox DocuTechs. The Input Grain Rotator Option for Roll's DocuSheeter DT allows the printing from rolls of two-up perfect-bound books by producing long grain book pages for the DocuTech. To optimize the creation of high quality perfect or case bound books, the book's pages should have a grain orientation parallel to the book's spine (thus, parallel to the direction of paper motion in the printer). The Grain Rotator Option consists of a module positioned between the DocuSheeter DT cutter module and the DocuTech. The Grain Rotator automatically takes sheets from the cutter, and reorients them at a right angle to their entry direction, presenting grain-appropriate sheets to the DocuTech. The Input Grain Rotator Option is modular and mobile (allowing easy removal for standard DocuSheeter operation), and can be added to either existing or new DocuSheeter DT roll feed systems. "Roll is excited about these new enhancements for DocuTech publishers," said Jules Fried, vice president of marketing at Roll Systems. "Roll's DocuSheeter has provided high capacity feeding to over 500 DocuTechs and high-speed DocuPrints since its introduction in 1993. These new products will bring productivity benefits to a new group of DocuTech users, as well as providing additional benefits to existing users." Both of these new Roll products are available through the Xerox Connection.
