Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO---Sept. 10, 2001-- T/R Systems, Inc., a leader in developing innovative solutions for the management and production of digital documents, announced today connectivity between the MicroPress document production server and the Minolta CF9001 and CF2001 digital color printer/copiers. "We have experienced high levels of success with the MicroPress connected to other color, as well as black and white, Minolta print devices,'' said Bud Murphy, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Minolta's Business Products Group. "With the increasing demand for color output in the print-on-demand market, we are looking forward to combining efforts once again to increase the color options available to our customers.'' The CF9001 and the CF2001 are among the latest offerings in the Minolta family of print devices. Other MicroPress-supported Minolta print devices include the CF900 series of color laser printer/copiers as well as the Di620 and the Di750 black and white printer/copiers.The Minolta CF9001 is an eight page-per-minute color, 32 page per minute black-and-white printer/copier using Minolta's LIMOS technology to provide high quality color output. The Minolta CF2001 is a high-speed printer/copier/scanner that utilizes a unique "tandem'' processing system, which applies CMYK colors in a single pass. This feature allows the device to operate at faster speeds of up to 20 pages per minute. In addition, with its 600 dpi print/copy resolution, the CF2001 provides superior color handling, including clear text, sharp edges and stable colors. "Our relationship with Minolta has been tremendously successful and we're very excited to add these two new products to the family of MicroPress-supported devices,'' said Mike Kohlsdorf, President and CEO of T/R Systems. "This connectivity provides Minolta customers with new output options and helps to make the MicroPress an even more robust document production solution.'' The MicroPress is a document production server for print-on-demand customers that bridges the gap between low-volume workgroup printing and high-volume centralized printing. By combining powerful document "make-ready'' capabilities with advanced workflow tools, sophisticated color management and unique print device connectivity options, the MicroPress provides customers with a scalable production printing system. Availability dates for CF9001 and CF2001 MicroPress connectivity are expected to be announced by Minolta in the near future.
