GRANDVILLE, Michigan (PRINT 01 booth #5665 & Seybold SF booth #311), September 6, 2001 – X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ:XRIT), a leading global provider of technology enhancing solutions using color, light, and shape, announced that its QuickCal -- densitometer technology for calibration of color output devices, is now shipping. Quick, Easy-To-Use Solution Helps Users Achieve Color Consistency Day-To-Day Perhaps the quickest, and easiest-to-use automated densitometer to come to the digital imaging market, QuickCal is designed to provide calibration and quality control of PostScript color copiers, color printers, and color proofing devices. The solution is ideal for calibrating large-format devices in Copy Shops, Professional Labs, Quick Printers and In-House Production environments. According to X-Rite, users of fast electrophotographic and inkjet color workflows need consistent color output paired with simple operation. Toner-based systems, in particular, can be affected by factors of humidity, temperature, and other variables. “QuickCal offers users a fast, easy-to-use system for calibrating color output devices to achieve consistent color quality from day-to-day. Utilizing QuickCal, users are able to reduce the time and expense required for re-dos due to inconsistent color quality,” says Bill Owens, Product Manager, Printing & Digital Imaging The Americas at X-Rite. QuickCal Features & Benefits QuickCal’s sleek ergonomic design makes hand-scanning measurements effortless. The instrument provides density measurements at an accuracy level to 2% density value, and also calculates and reports dot area. Within minutes, the color printer or copier is calibrated and ready to deliver accurate, consistent prints. Among the benefits of QuickCal are: * Color consistency throughout a job and over time; * Sharp, accurate color output yielding predictable, repeatable results; * Quality control of on-demand color including proofing, large format and color prints; * Fast, easy-to-use system; * No wasteful, slow trial and error color adjustments; * Fewer service calls, lower overall costs. X-Rite will show its range of color-critical solutions at upcoming trade shows, PRINT ’01 in Chicago (September 6-13) and Seybold Seminars San Francisco (September 25-27). Attendees will have the opportunity to see QuickCal and other X-Rite Color Tools That Work at dozens of color-enabled partner exhibits throughout the show.
