Live event on May 28 features Humana and USPS, just days before the 2026 MGI registration deadline
Irvine, CA — Sylvamo is hosting a free live webinar on Thursday, May 28, 2026, revealing how Humana, one of the nation’s largest health insurance companies, has saved millions of dollars in postage through the USPS Mail Growth Incentive (MGI) program. With the 2026 MGI registration deadline of May 31 just three days after the event, the webinar is a timely opportunity for mailers to learn how to take advantage of this free program before the window closes.
The Mail Growth Incentive offers a 30% postage credit on qualifying mail volume that exceeds a mailer’s established baseline. The program is free to register for, requires no changes to existing mail operations, and the USPS handles the volume tracking and credit calculations. Despite these benefits, an estimated 75% of eligible mailers are not currently participating.
“This is one of the most underutilized programs in the mailing industry,” said David Rosendahl, President of MindFire, who will moderate the webinar. “There’s no cost, no downside, and once you’re registered, the Postal Service does most of the work. We want mailers to hear directly from someone who’s done it and see how simple it really is.”
What Attendees will Learn
Kim Hasselbach, Director of Enterprise Print Management at Humana, will share her organization’s firsthand experience with MGI, including lessons learned, best practices for companies with multiple CRIDs and mail service providers, and why she believes every eligible mailer should be registered. Steve Mills from the U.S. Postal Service will provide an overview of how the program works, updated participation data comparing past years, and details on new features for 2026, including streamlined re-registration, the ability to delegate access to third parties, and improved credit reporting tools.
Chris Lien, EVP of Postal Affairs for BCC Software, will open the event with a brief state-of-the-industry update and key takeaways from the most recent National Postal Forum.
The webinar will also include a live Q&A session with USPS representatives answering audience questions in real time.

Registration Deadline Approaching
The 2026 Mail Growth Incentive registration period closes on May 31, 2026. Mailers who submit their initial registration by the deadline will have through June to finalize their baseline with the USPS. Eligible mail classes include First-Class Mail presort and automation letters, cards, and flats, as well as Marketing Mail letters, flats, carrier route, parcels, high density, and saturation products.
“There’s no reason not to register,” said Hasselbach. “It’s free, it’s straightforward, and if your volume grows for any reason, even unexpectedly, you’ll be glad you did.”
