London – Earth Day on 22 April serves as an annual reminder of how important it is to use our resources responsibly. For the London-based promotional products specialist allbranded, this day of action is the inspiration to dedicate the whole month of April to sustainability. Through an interactive campaign in its online shop, the company is combining its commitment to environmental protection with practical solutions for sustainable merchandising this month.
A spin for the ocean: interaction with impact
In April, visitors to the allbranded shop have the opportunity to spin the digital prize wheel. What makes this special is that the focus here is on the collective contribution to the environment. For every spin, allbranded donates £1 to the organisation MBRC the ocean.
“Sustainability isn’t just a passing trend to be touched upon briefly in April, but a responsibility that we, as industry players, must actively help shape,” explains Arne Schubert, Managing Director of allbranded. “With Earth Month, we want to invite our customers to become part of this movement – in a fun way, but with a measurable impact on marine conservation.”
MBRC the ocean works with volunteers worldwide to clean beaches and coastal areas and carries out important educational work on the topic of recycling. Thanks to the long-standing partnership between allbranded and MBRC the ocean, the support goes directly to projects that raise awareness of the plastic problem and actively clear the oceans of waste. The April campaign leverages the online shop’s reach to involve customers in this initiative without any additional hurdles.
Eco-friendly promotional items as part of the solution
In addition to the donation element, the prize wheel offers the chance to win coupons that can be used specifically for allbranded’s eco-friendly product range. In this way, the company aims to make it easier to switch to more eco-friendly alternatives in day-to-day marketing.
The product range goes far beyond the classic jute bag: whether products made from recycled ocean plastic, rPET or renewable raw materials, the focus is on innovative materials that support the circular economy:
“We are seeing a sharp rise in demand for products such as the Americano® Eco bag made from recycled plastic or office accessories made from rapidly renewable bamboo,” Schubert continues. “Our seed pouches and lanyards made from seed paper are also particularly popular for campaigns with an ecological footprint; after use, they don’t end up in the bin but literally blossom. Whether products made from recycled ocean plastic, rPET, or renewable raw materials: the aim is to link brand visibility with ecological added value. The coupons earned serve as an incentive to consciously choose materials that have a lower environmental impact for the next campaign.”
The partnership with MBRC the ocean
The collaboration with MBRC the ocean is already a long-standing tradition at allbranded. As early as World Oceans Day 2024, both partners sent a clear message: by linking every online order to the collection of plastic waste, a total of around 139,300 PET bottles were removed from beaches and coastal areas.
The current Earth Day campaign builds on this success. The partnership enables allbranded to integrate environmental responsibility directly into the value chain and return waste to the recycling cycle.
Sustainability as an ongoing process
For allbranded, its initiative in April is not a one-off project, but part of the company’s philosophy to make the promotional products industry increasingly sustainable. From advising on durable products to selecting B Corp- or FSC-certified materials, the company sees itself as a partner for brands that wish to combine appreciation with responsibility.
Earth Day provides the ideal setting to work with partners to focus on what really matters: protecting our environment.
