GHENT, BELGIUM – The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) is pleased to announce that Reprointelligence, a media technology company specializing in industrial print, has joined the organization as a vendor member. With deep expertise in color and rendering workflows, Reprointelligence (RI) strengthens GWG’s mission to improve PDFbased production workflows and enhance interoperability across the print, signage, and graphic arts industries.

Leveraging decades of hands-on pressroom and OEM service experience, RI develops tools that connect software-based data preparation with real-world production requirements, ensuring predictable, high-quality output in complex industrial environments.

»Having Reprointelligence join the group is a valuable addition,« said David L. Zwang, Chair of the GWG. »The industrial print market continues to expand in both scale and complexity. RI brings extensive experience with PDF and color workflows in these environments, which is essential for developing meaningful, practical standards. At GWG, we rely on our members’ deep industry expertise to ensure our specifications remain relevant and effective.«

While PDF processing is one component of RI’s broader portfolio, it is rooted in the company’s core focus: industrial print and packaging workflows, where color accuracy, reproducibility, and efficiency are critical.

»Our approach to PDF tools is grounded in the realities of the pressroom,« said Daniel R. Pfeiffer, founder of RI. »We focus on ensuring that every output meets requirements for quality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental responsibility while staying true to the designer’s intent. GWG’s work in harmonizing these demands aligns closely with ours.«

RIrender, RI’s flagship PDF interpreter, RIP, and color management solution, is designed for industrial production environments that require seamless integration, advanced spot color handling, and support for n-color processes. The software is developed by the RI-team from the ground up for UNIX- and Linux-based automation workflows.

RIrender has successfully passed GWG certification on its first submission for both product variants, demonstrating compliance with GWG specifications and confirming its ability to deliver consistent, accurate PDF rendering.
