Press release from the issuing company

Within the scope of a Technology Forum for customers and interested parties from all over the world to be held in the MAN Roland Graphic Center in Offenbach from October 22 till November 2, 2001, PrintCity partners Agfa and MAN Roland along with further partners from the graphics supply industry are to present the latest developments in prepress with CtPlate systems and the latest developments in packaging printing as well. Both topics will be dealt with in detail in the course of dedicated segment days. With the "Technology Forum - Packaging 2001" for instance, MAN Roland will report on the latest technical developments for producing packaging at the highest levels of productivity and quality. This will include demonstrations of innovative applications for printing labels and folding boxes on the widest range of materials, the latest enhancement methods, and also direct printing of corrugated board in a quality never before possible. And Agfa will use the joint Technology Forum to stage its next "Agfa Futurama PrePress" event and present state-of-the-art developments in digital prepress with CtPlate systems for commercial printing. This will focus on the new functions added to the award-winning, PDF-based workflow management system Agfa Apogee Series 2; the innovative Agfa Galileo CtP systems for producing medium-format printing plates, and the Agfa Xcalibur for large-format plates. The opening day of the Technology Forum, October 22, will coincide with the inauguration of the new "Agfa CtP Technology Center". Agfa CtP systems have been integrated in MAN Roland's Offenbach Graphic Center so that industry visitors can see complete workflows, from prepress through press to postpress, in a real production environment.
