Press release from the issuing company

WOBURN, MA, August 17, 2001 – Indigo N.V. (NASDAQ: INDG), a world leader in digital color printing systems, is joining Spartanics®, a major U.S. manufacturer of automated punching, material blanking and die-cutting systems, at the Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) 2001 Convention & Exposition in Anaheim, California, from September 19th to 22nd. At SGIA, the two companies will offer on-site demonstrations at Spartanics’ booth #3039, where the Spartanics M-500 Decorated Material Blanking & Die Cutting System will produce parts from sheets digitally printed on Indigo’s high-speed Omnius MultiStream Digital Offset Color press. In addition, from September 6th to13th the Omnius MultiStream will be featured at PRINT 01 in Chicago, where parts printed at Indigo’s booth #2129 will be taken to Spartanics’ booth #4236 for converting. "We’re pleased to have an opportunity to demonstrate how digital printing and rapid-die change capabilities can be used to increase flexibility, productivity and profits in a variety of industries," says Rick Mangold, Vice President of Sales for Indigo America. "The Omnius MultiStream digital color press offers advanced offset-quality variable data printing for high-value graphic attachments. As we continue to partner with important suppliers to the converting industry, including Spartanics, those applications are increasing." Spartanics, which specializes in the development, manufacturing and marketing of automated equipment, uses sophisticated electro-optical cell technology that increases accuracy, efficiency and security in the production and counting of flat stock material. The company’s M-500 Decorated Material Blanking & Die Cutting System is designed for a wide range of applications, including membrane switches, instrument panels, nameplates, stencils, luggage tags, ballots, VCR boxes, rulers, and much more. "Indigo’s variable data technology allows different colors, graphics and information to be printed at high speed, on almost any substrate," points out Bob Trkovsky, Spartanics’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The printed sheets are then cut and fed directly into our M-500 Blanking System, which is designed for high-speed precision optical registration and die-cutting of decorated materials." According to Vince Pentella, Omnius National Sales Manager for Indigo America, the combined power of Indigo’s MultiStream and Spartanics’ M-500 is proof of the advantages offered by digital printing in industrial areas. "At both SGIA and PRINT 01, we expect to create new awareness of the solutions provided by Indigo’s point-click-print digital color technology when combined with Spartanics high-end converting equipment."
