Mimeo Releases New Version of ExactPrint Technology, Includes Real-Time Proofing

Press release from the issuing company

August 16, 2001 (NEW YORK) - Mimeo, the leading provider of Internet-based document printing, today released a revolutionary new version of Mimeo ExactPrint proprietary technology, providing the most advanced online printing solution in the industry. This third generation release gives corporate users greater capability to build and produce complex documents online than exists anywhere else in the document production business. This new Mimeo solution allows users to assemble very complex documents from multiple files, mix color with black & white pages and insert custom tab dividers, without leaving their desktop. With the new release, all changes can be viewed on screen by using Mimeo's exclusive real-time document proofing technology. "Mimeo is the first document printing company to offer corporations this level of complex document creation and control in a dynamic, online environment," said John Lyons, Mimeo's Chief Executive Officer. "Our ExactPrint solution offers extensive new capabilities, dramatically lowers costs and delivers leading-edge quality." Features of Mimeo's New ExactPrint Solution include: * Merging Multiple Files Online From Different Applications into One Bound Document - ExactPrint allows any number of print files from different applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others to be combined into a single document.   * Advanced Collation, Formatting and Document Proofing Online - With ExactPrint's straightforward user interface, users can easily mix color and black & white pages as well as single- and double-sided files. In contrast to filling out a "print-job ticket," Mimeo's exclusive online proof technology provides instant viewing of the finished document.   * Customize & Insert Tab Dividers - With an easy-to-follow process, tab pages appear in the on-screen document proof as though already inserted into the finished document. Users can include an unlimited number of tabs in a document, and can choose from multiple font and style choices for customized tab labels.   * One-Click Color First Page - Users can now choose just the first (cover) page of their document to print in color with just one mouse-click, thereby saving time collating. Jeff Stewart, Mimeo's Chief Strategist and co-founder adds, "Many of the advancements in this new solution come directly from our client's feedback - from companies like Bear Stearns, Computer Associates and Hewlett-Packard. We are committed to simplifying and eliminating the daunting, time-consuming task of printing, duplicating, finishing and distributing all types of documents." As with the preceding ExactPrint version, this new proprietary client software and online technology is available to all Mimeo customers and provides direct, easy transmission of files to the Mimeo centralized printing facility located in Memphis, TN, adjacent to the FedEx North American hub. The software can be downloaded from the Mimeo web site at www.mimeo.com.
