“Happiness doesn’t knock, it gets delivered in a beautiful box” – The slogan set the tone, as Emmeci celebrated its 50th anniversary by unveiling a unique dry-embossed rigid box, designed by artist Pietro Terzini, blending Italian design, engineering excellence, and artistic creativity.
Florence – June 2025 marked the climax of Emmeci’s 50th anniversary celebrations as the Florence-based manufacturer, a Coesia company and a global benchmark in the premium packaging machinery sector, opened the doors of its Cerreto Guidi headquarters to clients and partners for an exclusive Open House. During the event, the company welcomed guests in its home to celebrate a special milestone: 50 years of innovation, craftsmanship, and customer commitment. Renowned for its expertise in designing and manufacturing machinery for luxury rigid boxes, Emmeci has played a key role in shaping the look and feel of high-end packaging across fashion, beauty, spirits, jewelry, electronics and more.
A limited-edition premium gift box, co-created with Milan-based artist Pietro Terzini, known for his work with iconic brands in the luxury world, showcased Emmeci’s unique fusion of art and technology. Created as a memorable gift for guests, the limited-edition box showcased natural dry embossing, an ink- and coating-free finish that adds tactile depth.
With more than 1,800 machines installed in over 40 countries, Emmeci has built its reputation as a trusted partner to manufacturers producing boxes for global luxury brands. Founded in 1975, the company has engineered advanced automatic solutions for the production of rigid boxes, serving sectors where packaging is not just functional - it defines brand identity and product experience.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore Emmeci’s heritage, its commitment to design and engineering excellence, and its continuous drive for innovation. Among the highlights was the OD400 S, a new solution that embodies Emmeci’s pursuit of the purest aesthetic, used to create the artwork in collaboration with Pietro Terzini. The machine reduces excessive ink usage by replacing it with natural dry embossing, combined with the distinctive puffy touch effect—an innovation made possible by a selective gluing system that enhances tactile quality while embracing sustainable design principles.
The OD400 S also represents Emmeci’s first application of Digital On Demand technology. Thanks to its ability to change box sizes without requiring mold replacements, it offers significant operational advantages: drastically reduced setup times, maximum flexibility, increased productivity, and lower production costs and downtime. The Open House also showcased another example of Emmeci's new Digital On Demand approach, represented by the OD500 R, a concrete demonstration of the company's revolutionary vision for the future.
During the event, this technology was shown in all its innovation, performing a complete format change in just 5 minutes, a concrete demonstration of the efficiency and high flexibility offered by Emmeci's technology.
“At Emmeci, we’ve always believed that packaging is where engineering excellence meets impeccable craftsmanship,” said Alfredo Fuschillo, CEO of Emmeci. “The collaboration with Pietro Terzini has been a natural choice to celebrate our 50th anniversary. For decades, our machines have shaped the boxes that define luxury, Pietro takes those same boxes and gives them a new life, transforming them into timeless works of art. This project reflects the essence of Emmeci: innovation, craftsmanship and a shared passion for creating objects able to inspire.”
