TechBooks Announces Three Top Hires for Sales Force

Press release from the issuing company

Fairfax, VA, July 24, 2001 - TechBooks recently announced the addition of three top sales executives to its Corporate Publishing Group, a Fairfax-based division that provides advanced XML publishing services to major corporations, online databases and government organizations that need to distribute content electronically over the Internet and in print. Rakesh Gupta, chairman and co-founder of TechBooks, announced the appointments of: * Tony McKinley as director of global projects and * John Spraga as a sales executive, both based in the Philadelphia area; * Jeff Bertrand to serve as a sales executive based in the Chicago area. "Their knowledge and experience will be valuable assets to both our customers and our company as we expand and introduce new XML-based innovations in cross-media publishing," said Gupta. McKinley, who is a frequent speaker and writer on knowledge management issues, plans to demonstrate the cost-saving methods of converting and managing high volumes of corporate data. "I want to provide corporations with the tools and expertise to more rapidly implement XML solutions to help them achieve collaborative commerce advantages and a return on their investment," said McKinley. His 25 years of professional experience in emerging technologies include sales and management positions with Captiva Software Corporation and Innodata, as well as two companies he founded Intelligent Imaging and Intelligent Scanning Inc. He worked directly with the founders of Questia.com on the world's largest XML project to date. Spraga, previously a program manager with Docucon Imaging Services (purchased by TAB Products last spring), will be marketing TechBooks' large-volume data conversion capabilities to state and local governments and commercial enterprises with knowledge management initiatives. During his more than 20 years in sales and marketing, he served a brief tour with the U.S. Army's 18th Airborne Corps as a senior logistician in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. "A lot of companies with bulging paper file cabinets are now struggling to retrieve and share data in Internet time with dispersed workers," Spraga said. "We are solving that problem by turning all of that paper into digital files, using TechBooks' programming manpower in New Delhi, India." Bertrand brings more than 10 years of success in selling business forms solutions. He plans to leverage that success when introducing TechBooks' efficiencies and economic advantages to the corporate market. His forte is his ability to fully evaluate customer needs and tap available resources to produce successful outcomes. Previously in sales at Moore North America, a document solutions company, he exceeded sales goals for five straight years.
