Sirspeedy.com First-to-Market with Variable Data Ordering and Real-Time Pricing

Press release from the issuing company

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., July 12, 2001— Sir Speedy Inc., the world’s leading franchisor of document management services, today introduces significant enhancements to the functionality of sirspeedy.com’s Sir Speedy MyDocs Online Services. The new features offer customers three document management options: MyCatalog, for quick access to frequently ordered documents; MyPrintCenter for unique orders of existing documents; and MyDesignCenter for step-by-step instructions to create new documents. "The new features of our Web site create customized document management systems for our customers that accommodate their specific business needs," said Dan Beck, president, Sir Speedy Inc. "By offering a variety of ways to do business, the site is designed to help our customers work smarter while complementing our in-center expertise and company philosophy of personalized customer service." Sir Speedy franchisees develop each Sir Speedy MyDocs MyCatalog based on their key customer’s order history. When key customers log-on to sirspeedy.com, they click on MyDocs Online Services to view the personalized catalog of documents they frequently order. The customer selects the item they want to reorder, indicates the quantity, adds special instructions for the order and clicks Order. MyCatalog is equipped with variable data technology that enables users to enter their own information onto a pre-designed document template and immediately view the proof that will be sent directly to the nearest Sir Speedy center. Designated authorized buyers have quick access to files and can order printed materials through the Web site using whatever approval process the company requires. MyPrintCenter enables users to digitally create unique orders with a variety of choices for paper, binding and covers. After approving an online proof and price quote, the job is produced and can be delivered to any location in the world based on the customer’s instructions. The MyDesignCenter feature guides users through the process of creating new business cards, stationery and labels from start to finish. Users create their document, customize materials, submit an order and arrange for delivery æ all from their desktop, and without needing any design experience or programs. "Today’s aggressive business environment demands that a print provider offer a complete solution to their customers’ business printing and copying needs," said Charles A. Pesko, managing director of CAP Ventures, Inc., a strategic consulting firm for providers and users of business communication technologies and services. "Sir Speedy’s new e-commerce features, added to the company’s physical infrastructure, offer business customers a full range of document management options and an innovative ‘distribute and print’ solution." sirspeedy.com also makes it easier to standardize and control documents across the nation or around the world by giving businesses instant Internet access to all of their documents. Sir Speedy’s Global Digital Network centers will then produce the documents and deliver them whenever and wherever they’re needed.
