iCopyright Launches Click&Copyright Registration Service
Press release from the issuing company
RENTON, Wash. and MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (July 2, 2001) - iCopyright has partnered with Click Industries to make the Click&Copyright Registration Service available through iCopyright.com. Now writers who wish to copyright their work can do so at www.icopyright.com and receive a discount for registering with iCopyright to sell their works through the Instant Clearance Service.
"By offering this service, we provide content creators with an end-to-end solution," said Mike O'Donnell, CEO of iCopyright. "For a nominal fee, they can register their works with the U.S. Copyright office via the Internet and sell their works to the world through the Instant Clearance Service. Where else are they going to find a deal like that?"
"We are pleased to partner with iCopyright, the recognized leader in automated content licensing," said Mark Levine, CEO of Click Industries. "U.S. copyright protection is still the best way for creators to protect their work. For online content creators, it's more important now than ever before. Together, Click Industries and iCopyright give online creators the tools to protect, promote, and sell their works online."
The Click&Copyright Registration Service provides a more efficient way to file with the U.S. Copyright Office, a process that often requires an attorney. Content creators fill out an online form then Click&Copyright processes the application. Most applications cost $99. Content owners who sign up for the Click&Copyright service through iCopyright also receive a discount code good for activating the Instant Clearance Service for free, a $495* value.
Writers can sell their works through the Instant Clearance Service by putting the iCopyright icon on their pages. When readers click on the icon, they can license, purchase and receive content instantly, in bulk formatted e-mail, PDFs, or Web reprint formats.
In addition to activating the Instant Clearance Service, iCopyright Publisher Central provides online creators with tracking and usage reports so content creators can see who has licensed their content. The extranet site, also launched today, is designed to ease implementation of the Instant Clearance Service with step-by-step instructions. Activation requires no programming and only basic knowledge of HTML.

* The $99 fee does not include the monthly subscription fee for iCopyright Publisher Central, an extranet that provides a suite of Web-based services and tools that help authors manage their licensing program through the Instant Clearance Service.
