Press release from the issuing company
The Book Manufacturers’ Institute (BMI) is excited to host the fourth edition of Book Manufacturing Mastered on October 1, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge. This year’s conference will feature a comprehensive agenda focusing on the state of the publishing and printing industry, examining significant changes and ongoing challenges.
The opening session will feature an industry overview from printing industry expert Marco Boer and Publishers Weekly Editorial Director Jim Milliot. Panels of publishers and printers will then give their take on where the industry has been most recently and where they think it is headed. Printer panelists include John Galligan of Bradford & Bigelow, Andrew Van Sprang of Maple Press, and Kent Larson of Bridgeport National Bindery. Publisher panelists include Tim Jones of Harvard University Press, Karen Pavlicin of Elva Resa, and Sherin Pierce of Yankee Publishing.
With supply chain being a major issue for both printers and publishers, the event will also have a session talking paper with Bill Rojack of Midland Paper and supply chain logistics with Robert Sockin of Citi. Attendees will engage in interactive roundtable discussions and connect during a networking cocktail reception featuring tabletop exhibits from leading manufacturers and suppliers.
The event is backed by notable sponsors, including Maple Press and Bradford & Bigelow, and is organized in collaboration with industry associations like the Book Industry Study Group (BISG), the Association of American Publishers (AAP), the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA), the Protestant Church-Owned Publishers Association (PCPA), Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP), PubWest, the Association of University Presses (AUPresses) and the New York Book Forum.
Registration is now open. All agenda, hotel and registration information can be found at www.bookmanufacturingmastered.com.
