Ricoh Unveils the Aficio 1105 Segment 6 On-Demand Digital Imaging System

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. July 30, 2001-- Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable Digital(TM) output company, today introduced the RICOH Aficio 1105 high-volume digital imaging system for the Walk-up, Print-for-Pay and Central Reprographic Departments requiring production quality imaging and high performance printing.      Designed to handle high-volume workloads, the Aficio 1105 is based off of the highly successful Aficio 1050 system.      "The Aficio 1105 is designed to meet the high-volume needs of our customers in the most intensive production environments," said Jim Ivy, President, Office Products Group, Ricoh Corporation. In addition to being a major addition to the company's overall growth strategy, the Aficio 1105 further strengthens Ricoh's position as the leading provider of digital imaging systems worldwide.      Ricoh's Aficio 1105 features many workflow-enhancing capabilities, including technology that focuses on input, management and output. This technology includes an Automatic Reversing Document Feeder with batch feed capabilities and Document Server/Document Editor which allows users to scan documents directly into the system's memory for on-demand, secure, file merge and proof printing. The Aficio 1105 offers optional multiple front end enablers including the Peerless Type 850 Controller, a Fiery EB-105e and the Ricoh MicroPress for high performance printing. The enhanced optional embedded Fiery EB-105e controller delivers top-quality printing at an impressive speed. Working with the Aficio 1105, the controller provides smooth, even black and white printing while offering document building tools including imposition, tab printing, print drivers for a variety of platforms, utilities for remote job management and a local interface for immediate control.      For output, the Aficio 1105 works with the SR810 Finisher offering multiple position stapling and hole punching as well as the optional SR85 Bookletmaker for increased on-line or off-line productivity. The suggested retail price of the Aficio 1105 System is $59,500.
