The EDP Award is given annually by the European Digital Press Association (EDP), an organization made up of European printing magazines, to the digital printing-related products or technology that are ranked highest in each of the categories.

XpertJet 1462UF is a gantry-driven flatbed UV-LED printer with a distinctive printing table size of 1,420mm x 700mm. Equipped with two newly developed 4-inch UV-LED lamps and a staggered dual print head with separated colored and white/varnish inks, it achieves high-speed two-layer printing. The highly rigid printer body, which has been developed to maximize precision, and MUTOH's unique aluminum rail structure ensure high ink dot placement accuracy, enabling stable and high-quality printing.

With a 4-section vacuum control table and media placement up to 150mm thick, this printer can flexibly handle a variety of three-dimensional objects and media sizes. Even if media or printing tools are placed on the table, it is equipped with a mechanism that allows nozzle checks in the area next to the table, as well as an automatic nozzle check function. It is designed with the emphasis on ease of use for customers.

The EDP Association's Technical Committee, which was in charge of the evaluation, commented that "MUTOH XpertJet 1462UF flatbed printer prints in 4 colors white and varnish (C, M, Y, K, Wh, Va). With a table size of 1420mm x 700mm and height adjustment up to 150mm, this printer is more versatile than usual in this category. The XpertJet1462UF can print on objects up to 150 mm thick and has a 4-zone magnetic vacuum bed that can support weights of up to 50 kg/m². This makes the XPJ-1462 UF an attractive solution for screen printers looking to expand into digital direct-to-object printing, as well as for industrial printers looking for more versatility and color".
