WASHINGTON, DC – AMERIPEN, the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment, today announced several changes to its Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Effective immediately, AMERIPEN’s Executive Committee includes:
Kelly Smith, Ferrero USA – President
Jennifer Ronk, DOW – Vice President
Cathy Foley, Pratt Industries – Treasurer
Shannon Crawford Gay, WM – Secretary
AMERIPEN offers sincere thanks to past President Scott Byrne of Sonoco and past Secretary Lynn Dyer of Pactiv Evergreen, both of whom will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Scott was recently reelected to the Board to serve his third director term, while Lynn is currently serving her second director term.
“Scott Byrne and Lynn Dyer have both done a tremendous job leading our organization as we promote effective, sustainable packaging policy,” said Dan Felton, Executive Director of AMERIPEN. “We applaud their commitment and feel fortunate that both will continue advising us as Board members.”
Kelly Smith of Ferrero USA, AMERIPEN’s newly appointed President, said, “Thank you to Scott and all those who have served and continue to serve the organization. I am grateful for the opportunity to carry the torch as we move forward. While the current legislative and regulatory environment for packaging remains challenging, there is also great opportunity for us to collaborate across the value chain to help shape workable and effective policy to advance packaging sustainability.”
AMERIPEN also welcomes new Board Member Emily Williams of TC Transcontinental while thanking Jordan Fengel of Tetra Pak for his contribution as he steps away from the Board.
