WhatTheyThink to Deliver Exclusive Insights and Dynamic Coverage at drupa 2024 with drupa daily and Video Studio

Press release from the issuing company

WhatTheyThink, the leading global media organization serving the printing and publishing industries, is excited to announce its extensive plans for drupa 2024. As a key global player in industry news and analysis, WhatTheyThink will enhance its presence at the world's largest printing equipment exhibition by publishing the drupa daily and operating a state-of-the-art video studio, ensuring attendees and followers receive unparalleled coverage and insights throughout the event.

Unrivaled Daily Coverage with the drupa daily

WhatTheyThink has been entrusted with publishing the drupa daily, the event's official show daily newspaper. This prestigious responsibility underscores WhatTheyThink’s position as a trusted source of industry news and analysis worldwide. The drupa daily will provide attendees with timely updates, in-depth interviews, and comprehensive articles covering the latest innovations, product launches, and trends shaping the printing and publishing sectors. Distributed throughout the exhibition grounds, the drupa daily will be an indispensable resource for industry professionals seeking to stay informed and engaged.

Partnership with HP

WhatTheyThink and HP are collaborating at the drupa 2024 trade fair to produce the drupa daily using a hybrid of offset and digital printing technologies. Schaffrath MedienDruck will handle the offset printing of the interior pages, while HP will produce 64,000 high-quality covers daily using their Indigo presses, integrated with HP SmartStream Designer and PrintOS automation tools. This approach enhances production efficiency, quality, and sustainability, with AI predicting daily print quantities to minimize waste. The project showcases the synergy between offset and digital printing, demonstrating the versatility and innovation of HP Indigo technology in a large-scale production environment.

Partnership with Kongsberg

WhatTheyThink and Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems are collaborating to design and construct sustainable display stands for the drupa daily at drupa 2024. Made from 100% recyclable BEElite honeycomb cardboard, these fire retardant and lightweight stands are easily assembled and transported. Kongsberg’s C24 cutting table with the VariAngle tool will ensure precise and efficient production. The stands will be placed at key locations throughout Messe Düsseldorf, showcasing the unique A4 drupa daily publications with variable covers printed by HP. Kongsberg, also a sponsor, brings extensive trade fair experience to this project. More information on their cutting systems is available on their website.

Dynamic Video Studio Sharing Key Thought Leadership

In addition to the drupa daily, WhatTheyThink will operate an advanced video studio on-site. This initiative aims to capture the dynamic atmosphere of drupa 2024, offering viewers real-time insights, interviews with industry leaders, and live coverage of key events. The video studio will serve as a hub for expert analysis and commentary, providing remote attendees and those on the exhibition floor with a multimedia experience that brings the excitement of drupa directly to their screens.

Partnership with EFI

WhatTheyThink is collaborating with EFI to highlight the quality and versatility of digital textile printing at drupa 2024 by using EFI Reggiani printed textiles for their video studio. The studio will feature a "drupa red" backdrop and digitally printed scarves worn by interviewers, showcasing the brilliant colors and soft feel produced by EFI Reggiani printers. This initiative aims to inspire the textile industry to adopt more sustainable and cost-effective digital printing technologies. EFI will display their advancements in Hall 9, Stands A20-1 and A20-2, while visitors can see the textile samples in action at the WhatTheyThink video studio in Building 7.
