Markzware MarkzScout Automates All Filtering & File Processes for Rothender
Press release from the issuing company
RIJSWIJK, The Netherlands June 8, 2001 -- Rothender, an Austrian company located in St. Pölten has created a workflow that incorporates Markzware's automated prepress workflow application MarkzScout to handle their clients largest problems. The difficult problem for Rothender is obtaining jobs complete with all the files, images and fonts and preflighting them by the hundreds.
Hermes Datacheck is a fully automated workflow solution based on MarkzScout that checks the native top level documents, sorts files, corrects image formats, and flags job folders according to the errors found without the need of having a skilled prepress operator. When a job passes the checks, Datacheck automatically passes the job to the digital press. The complete solution is fully customizable to variable data editable preferences.
What this workflow solution provides is:
• Automatic decompression of archives
• Locating linked images
• Locating duplicate images
• Activating delivered fonts
• Activating missing fonts from a font database
• Finding the top level document and route to FlightCheck
• Conversion of images
• Generation of job folders with all needed items
• Printout from the most popular layout programs and move the data to the final desintation
Hermes Datacheck v1.7 is set up to allow the operator to drag & drop entire CD volumes, ZIP disks or other media onto an in-folder of Hermes and the workflow, "just happens in an automated fashion," said Peter Kleinheider, chief engineer of Rotheneder GmbH.
"Having the ability to check this data without the need of an experienced prepress operator has been incredibly helpful saving time, meeting deadlines for our customers as well as saving on costs. Our customers know what repairs are required as soon as their job comes in, and what their cost will be if we correct it." Kleinheider continues, "The way I programmed in the past has completely changed because of MarkzScout. Now I am able to instantly automate layouts which makes it so much easier, time efficient and most importantly, maintains quality control."
Rotheneder GMBH is a major integrator in Austria's prepress market. As a Sun Microsystems Professional Service they serve most of the Helios installations. As a prepress consultant, Peter Kleinheider found a lack of automatic software for quality assurance and therefore started to develop Hermes Datacheck 2 1/2 years ago.
