Modix Unveils Modix Slicer and a Game Changer High Speed Extruder

Press release from the issuing company

Modix (https://modix3d.com), a leading manufacturer recognized for its large-format 3D printers is thrilled to announce the following:

Modix Griffin Ultra Print Head: Six times faster - Large print jobs in hours, not days!

The new Griffin Ultra extruder, introduced recently with the release of the two meter tall Modix Everest 3d printer, is now available for all Modix printers’ models. The Griffin Ultra presents an exceptional extrusion capacity of 500 gr/hour and utilizes a 1.6 mm nozzle for fast printing of thick layers, allowing for substantial prints to be completed in just a few hours instead of days as before.

When compared to the standard Griffin model, which features a 0.6 mm nozzle, the Griffin Ultra allows printing with three times fewer layers (a layer of 1.2mm vs 0.4 mm), increases solid layer speed by 2.6 times, and enhances perimeter speed by 2.6 times for any given thickness (single wall of 1.6mm vs 0.6mm). This accumulation of time-saving enhancements enables the Griffin Ultra to print up to six times faster than conventional extruders.

Announcement of the Modix Slicer
Modix is pushing the boundaries for advanced large scale 3d printing. Based on the popular open-sourced PrusaSlicer (which is based on “Slic3r”), the Modix Slicer improves several key features related to large scale IDEX 3D printing:

- A more effective wiping tower - you can control the size (X&Y) of the wipe tower as well as the infill for better wiping of large nozzles.
- A more stable wiping tower shape - with a wide trapezoidal base (pyramid).
- Print in IDEX mode with two different nozzle diameters - Print the main model with a large diameter nozzle (i.e. the new Griffin Ultra) for higher speed and the soluble filament with a smaller nozzle for precise printing so it will not mix with the main model.

The new Slicer is soon to enter a closed beta program with leading Modix’s customers and later it will be provided for the public for free (including sources). Modix will continue working for the benefit of the large 3D printing ecosystem with new upcoming innovations.

Mr. Shachar Gafni, CEO of Modix, "Modix is once again pushing the limits of innovation in the field of large format 3D printing, and we will continue doing so with additional innovations."

Mr. John Van El, CCO of Modix, "We continue look forward to a better and unique offering bringing new value to new and existing customers."
