FSEA to Unveil New Sustainability and Metallic Decorating Report During Print Embellishment Conference, April 9-11 – Dallas, Texas

Press release from the issuing company

Topeka, Kansas -- Sustainability remains an important issue for the graphic arts industry – and specifically for the print embellishment segment of the industry. The Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA) has taken a leading role in understanding and distributing information about the recyclability of metallic-decorated print, and the association will utilize its platform at the 2024 Print Embellishment Conference, April 9-11, Dallas, Texas, to unveil a new report conducted with Van Dyk Recycling Solutions, the leading supplier of recycling sorting equipment.

The sorting equipment supplied by Van Dyk Recycling Solutions is installed at many of the Municipal Recovery Facilities (MRFs) throughout the United States and North America. Recently, testing was performed with transfer metallic-decorated fiber-based products to understand successful sorting rates. The results will be revealed during a special presentation by FSEA Member Seth Levenstein, ITW ShineMark, during the Print Embellishment Conference. Following the announcement, a panel on Sustainability and Embellishments will discuss the new study and other important subjects as they relate to sustainability for print and print embellishments. The panel will include Eric Longnecker and Dennis Bacchetta, Diamond Packaging; Karen Kromat, Case Paper; and Paul Furse, Scodix.

The 2024 Print Embellishment Conference, sponsored by the FSEA, PostPress Magazine and Amplify Print, will be held April 9-11 at the Delta Hotels Dallas Southlake in Dallas, Texas. Programming scheduled during the event addresses key topics and market segments of the print embellishment industry, from packaging (cartons and labels) and trading cards to greeting cards, direct mail and more. Over 25 suppliers in the print embellishment/finishing industry will exhibit at the Supplier Trade Fair, including virtually all of the leading print embellishment suppliers of foils, engravings, machinery and coatings, with the full list of exhibitors found on the website.

Amplify is an exhibition and educational program spotlighting the print finishing value chain, held for the first time in May of 2022. The event welcomed print and packaging designers, commercial printers, print finishers, binders, mailers and creatives to connect with the equipment manufacturers and suppliers to those industries. From the exhibit hall to the educational program and beyond, attendees networked with all the key players in the finishing cycle, learned best practices, discovered emerging technologies and heard real-world success stories. The Amplify expo will return in 2025.
