5/28/01 - Wilco Inc., a division of Cartem Wilco Group and one of Canada's leading folding carton producers has begun implementing the PECAS Vision management information system for its plant in Candiac, Quebec. The new system will replace software that was developed and maintained in-house by Wilco. Since the company's product line is mainly composed of the highest quality packaging, Wilco was particularly interested in the amount of detailed control of information provided throughout the integrated PECAS system. The company plans to simplify its business processes while remaining flexible enough to handle the complexity of custom orders. Wilco will also gain new planning abilities with Scheduling Assistant and the graphical online scheduling board, allowing rapid planning that still takes every critical variable into consideration. The Quebec plant will use the French version of PECAS, which is available in four other languages. "When designing a software, you have to make choices and trade-offs. Radius people, in designing PECAS Vision, have made the right choices to satisfy the folding carton industry; their knowledge of our industry is evident" said Pierre Beaudoin, President for Wilco. Radius now supplies PECAS to three of the top folding carton companies in Canada.
