Massachusetts Printers Join Forces, Graphic Services To Acquire Inter-City Press
Press release from the issuing company
5/25/01 - Graphic Services of Hanover Massachusetts, has signed an intent to acquire all the assets of Inter-City Press of Rockland Massachusetts. Graphic Services, one of the south shore’s fastest growing companies, services the Educational Publishing Industry as well as local businesses. Inter-City Press (ICP) is a family owned business that has had tremendous success and growth over that past 20 years. With long standing relationships in the Financial Printing Industry, ICP is known for their quality 1 & 2/c web printing as well as 6-color sheet-fed capabilities. "This acquisition offers us a tremendous amount of flexibility," said William Fitzgerald, President of Graphic Services; "We can now offer our clients better service with the increased web capabilities and become more of an asset to them." The deal, scheduled to be completed by the end of June, makes us one of the largest privately held printers in New England.
In addition to this acquisition, Graphic Services owns a fulfillment and distribution company that specializes in pick/pack/ship & inventory management, along with hand assembly and collating. "Not only can we help our clients produce their literature they have, produced, we can help them effectively get it to their end users," said Brad Koch, C.T.O Graphic Services. The fulfillment company uses technology and the World Wide Web to give clients the ability to manage inventory levels and distribution of their products remotely, anywhere in the world. "The trend is changing from bulk pack and ship to custom solutions that gives our clients the most flexibility with their products, as well as important information about their end users," said Peter Zampine, Graphic Services.
"We couldn’t feel more positive about this acquisition," said Craig Derderian, ICP, "we both have solid relationships in two of the most stable print industries…." The main thing that has been the driving force in the success of both companies is their commitment to service above the call of duty. "Nothing is impossible when you communicate… consider it done!"
