Presentech, Communicorp, and Canon Join PIAG Board of Directors

Smyrna, GA – The Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia (PIAG) welcomed three new leaders to its Board of Directors at the Annual Business Meeting on January 25.  

Joel Berger, co-owner of Presentech, Mike Thomas, vice president of operations with Communicorp (a subsidiary of Aflac), and Laura Townsend, senior account executive with Canon Solutions America all took the oath of office administered by PIAG Board Chair Littie Brown, SpeedPro Marietta.

The following members are now serving on the PIAG Board of Directors and the PIAG Educational Foundation Board of Trustees.

Attendees at the Annual Meeting also heard presentations from three experts who shared their predictions and insights:

  • Dr. Roger Tutterow, professor of economics at Kennesaw State University, discussed how supply chain imbalances, tight labor markets, inflation, interest rates, housing market, and politics can affect the economy this year.
  • Adriana Midence, employment attorney with Jackson Lewis, briefed attendees on ten common mistakes employers make during the hiring process, including several examples of illegal questions you don’t want to ask in an interview, how to write enforceable non-solicitation and non-compete clauses, and how to avoid misclassifying exempt vs. non-exempt employees to reduce the risk of a class-action lawsuit being filed against your company.
  • Dr. Ralph Williams, associate professor of management at Middle Tennessee State University, reviewed data from a recent survey of printers across the U.S. identifying the types of tools and processes most companies are using to make their hiring decisions and train new employees, as well as how to brand your company as a desirable place to work.
