Toray Plastics (America), Inc., Receives International Sustainability and Carbon Certification

North Kingstown, Rhode Island—Toray Plastics (America), Inc., announces it has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for locations in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and Front Royal, Virginia. The ISCC is the world’s largest certifications system with more than 50,000 valid certificates and 250 members in 130 countries. It aims for zero deforestation; protection of land with high biodiversity and high carbon stock; protection of soil, water, and air; compliance with human, labor, and land rights; measurement and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; and traceability throughout supply chains. The sustainability certification system covers all sustainable feedstocks, including agricultural and forestry biomass, biogenic wastes and residues, and circular materials and renewables. Chain of custody can be established for Toray’s recycled scrap, resin, and films.
