Lithec to Host “Color Rules” Panel at PRINTING United

Press release from the issuing company

Clyde Tillman to moderate panel discussion with renowned industry experts in color management

WOODSTOCK, GA — Lithec, a global leader in the inline color control and inspection systems market for the graphic communications industry, announces a new series of technology demonstrations featuring Lithec LithoFlash at PRINTING United on October 18-20, 2023, in Atlanta, GA. A special feature of this year’s exhibition will be “Color Rules”, a roadmap to success in color management forum, featuring renowned industry experts on Thursday, Oct 19, at 2:00 PM in Booth B933 in the Offset Print Pavilion. Industry experts in color management on the panel include: DJ Cabler (Westrock), Jack Frank (Westrock), Jim Raffle (ColorCasters), Shelby Sapusek (Color Casters) and Bruce Wells (Lithec USA).

“Inline color measurement systems, such as LithoFlash, are becoming the norm for major packaging printers and converters for reducing makeready and maintaining color critical work consistently throughout the run,” states Clyde Tillman, President, Lithec USA. “Lithec has witnessed some plants getting the process dialed in for optimal results and some plants that could use some help in building a perfect process.”

“We want to share our experience for how to manage the process with the industry,” continues Tillman, “and we have built a roadmap that we believe every printer should implement to maximize their savings and achieve color consistency. We will be sharing this roadmap at the show and will host an open discussion with the best experts in the industry about plate processes, proofing processes, press processes and color control. You are sure to gain some insight by joining us at this panel discussion.”

DJ Cabler, a print expert from WestRock Corporation, notes that “Inline color control on printing presses is becoming the standard method for ensuring color consistency across different plants and presses. This technology eliminates the need for manual measurement of color bars at the press console. Instead, the color bar is continuously monitored and adjustments are automatically made to ink settings as each sheet passes through the press.”

Lithec's LithoFlash technology eliminates the need for manual color bar measurements by reading the color bar in real-time while the press is running. Lithec LithoFlash is available on all new sheetfed offset presses, and it can also be retrofitted onto presses from various brands including Heidelberg, RMGT, Komori, KBA, Manroland, and Mitsubishi. Additionally, Lithec offers offline inspection systems that are compatible with all press manufacturers and models. Lithec inspection tables can simultaneously support up to four presses.

With over 1,500 installations in printing plants worldwide, Lithec's inline and offline color control and inspection systems have been well-received by commercial printers, packaging printers, and converters. The reported benefits include decreased makeready time, reduced waste substrate, and consistent production quality throughout print runs.

Lithec USA serves as the authorized master distributor of Lithec solutions throughout the Americas, and it is based in Woodstock, GA. For further information, including free registration at PRINTING United, please visit: https://lithecusa.com/printing-united-2023
