Dallas is One of the Top Creative Markets in the US?
Press release from the issuing company
4/24/01 - According to TrendWatch, the greatest number of creative establishments are found in New York City -- the Big Apple accounts for 7.9% of the United States's designers, agencies, and other creatives. And since 44% of New York creatives plan to invest in Macintosh workstations, that represents 8.1% of total U.S. planned investment in Macintoshes by creatives.
Now for today's demographic lesson...when looking at creative markets for the purpose of targeted marketing and promotion, New York City is an obvious choice. But would you have guessed that Dallas, TX, is one of the country's top 10 creative markets? That Minneapolis is? It pays to not only pick the geographical regions that comprise the greatest numbers of your target customers -- but also markets that are planning to buy specific types of products and services. Are those two pieces of data always the same? Probably not.... And yes, we know not everyone cares about this stuff!
