Paperloop to Offer Greycon Planning Applications Online
Press release from the issuing company
SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, 2001 - Paperloop and Greycon are teaming up to give users of paperloop's industry leading online community at www.paperloop.com access to multiple high-tech planning and process optimization applications.
These applications are available immediately through paperloop's business and technical tools section and will join other valuable applications when the new Application Center is launched later this month.
Greycon, the world's leading producer of production planning and scheduling software for flat-sheet products, will offer its Roll Stock Optimizer (RSO) and Paper Calculator through the Paperloop application center.
The RSO is a new planning service that allows converters, corrugators, printers and others who use rolls, to meet a variety of end-product sizes and accurately determine what size and quantity of rolls to stock in order to meet a particular demand profile. Using the RSO can minimize inventory, reduce trim waste, increase stock turns and improve demand tracking.
Greycon's Paper Calculator is another helpful, web-based planning tool that calculates the number of reels, sheets, reel diameters, reel lengths, calipers or weights of a reel, based on characteristics known about the paper, reel or sheets. It can also perform cost calculations for paper area, sheet count and weight.
Greycon is the largest software and consulting company that specializes in resolving optimization problems and building scheduling solutions for flat sheet manufacturers. Greycon's suite of applications is among the leading scheduling execution systems with product licenses sold to 150 locations for more than 80 clients. Eighty percent of the licenses are installed in the paper, converting and printing industries, including such leading companies as Arjo Wiggins, SAPPI, SCA, Stora Enso and Westvaco.
